Publicon PCO is funded with 30,000 EUR by Enterprise Estonia (EIS) from the European Union Cohesion Policy funds to organise the international event of IUFRO Division 5 and SWST.
The conference will gather over 400 participants and feature plenary lectures and submitted abstract presentations to cover recent trends in forestry. Its main goal is to provide attendees with a high-level and multifaceted programme from top specialists in the field. The conference will provide a platform for networking for researchers, academics and practitioners.
The purpose of the project is to hold a conference on par with the quality of previous conferences where the participants will receive collegial support, tools, and educational input in the field of forestry, wood products, circular bioeconomy, future trends, updates in wood science, wood valorization and non-wood products. As many participants will be in Estonia for the first time, the social programme introduces Tartu with city tours, a welcome reception and conference dinner. One whole day will be dedicated to full-day tours to visit relevant companies and nature sites. As a result, awareness of Estonia as a tourism and conference destination will increase.
